Gavin Newsome and the End of Discrimination

We see [the end of discrimination] everywhere. Bob Dole gave us our creedal mantra at the 1996 Republican National Convention, fearlessly proclaiming, “I will not tolerate intolerance!” After Jean Carnahan’s failed attempt at re-election to the Missouri U.S. Senate seat, her campaign manager offered this timeless wisdom: “We believe, what we believe . . . and we have stood for what we have stood for.” The crowd cheered.
